John McEnroe Tennis Academy: Developing the Next Generation of Tennis Champions

In 2010, tennis icon John McEnroe launched the John McEnroe Tennis Academy (JMTA) in partnership with SPORTIME Clubs, realizing his vision of nurturing tennis talent within an urban environment. Located at SPORTIME Randall’s Island in Manhattan, JMTA’s flagship academy provides aspiring players in New York City with unparalleled coaching and resources.

John McEnroe’s JMTA is built on the belief that exceptional tennis players can emerge from urban settings without sacrificing their home life, education, or participation in other activities. JMTA actively seeks out motivated young athletes throughout the NYC metropolitan area and beyond, offering a comprehensive program across multiple SPORTIME locations. Expanding from Randall’s Island, JMTA established annexes at SPORTIME Lake Isle in Westchester, SPORTIME Syosset in Long Island, and SPORTIME Port Washington. Each location offers state-of-the-art facilities and the same high standard of JMTA training.

Under the leadership of John McEnroe and JMTA Managing Director Bennett Schlansky, JMTA boasts an elite team of directors. This includes Executive Director Patrick McEnroe, Performance Director Richard-John Mensing, Jr., and Director of Mental Toughness Dr. Dejan Stankovic, ensuring a well-rounded development approach. The JMTA program is designed to optimize each player’s abilities, emphasizing not only tennis skills but also academic achievement and a balanced, healthy lifestyle.

For serious junior players aiming for excellence, the John McEnroe Tennis Academy, in partnership with SPORTIME Clubs, offers a unique and supportive pathway to reach their full potential, both on and off the court. Membership provides access to SPORTIME/JMTA programs and exclusive benefits, making world-class tennis training accessible within the New York metropolitan area.
