Spray Ground Essentials: Tips for a Great Visit
To ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable time at the John Venezia Community Park spray ground, here are a few helpful tips and rules to keep in mind:
- Food Zones: Please enjoy snacks and meals in designated food areas only to keep the spray ground clean and safe for everyone.
- Glass-Free Zone: For safety reasons, glass containers are not permitted within the spray ground area.
- Diaper Policy: For the health and hygiene of all guests, participants wearing diapers, including swim diapers, must also wear plastic pants over them.
- Leave Valuables at Home: While enjoying the water fun, it’s best to avoid bringing valuable items as lockers are not available. The Deerfield Hills Community Center and John Venezia Community Park are not responsible for lost or stolen belongings.
- Smoke-Free Park: In accordance with City Ordinance #17-7, all park property, including the spray ground, is non-smoking. This includes electronic devices, marijuana, and tobacco products.
- No Alcohol Allowed: City Ordinance No. 21-9-410 prohibits alcoholic beverages in all city parks, ensuring a family-friendly environment.
- Group Visits: Planning a weekday visit with a group of 12 or more? A reservation agreement is required to ensure smooth access and accommodate your group.
- Weather Dependent: For everyone’s safety, the spray ground may close due to lightning, temperatures at or below 65 degrees Fahrenheit, or other inclement weather conditions.
- Safety First: All general park safety rules and code of conduct apply to ensure a positive experience for all visitors. Parking can be limited, especially during peak times.
