“He’d tell me how beautiful I was, ask me about my day and rub my back,” Newell shared with PEOPLE, describing the initial infatuation. “I was infatuated with him.” Meehan presented himself as an anesthesiologist recently returned from volunteering with Doctors Without Borders in Iraq, a fabricated persona designed to impress and gain trust.
