John Majors Actor: Ex-Girlfriend Drops Assault and Defamation Lawsuit

In a significant turn of events, the civil lawsuit filed against actor Jonathan Majors by his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, has been dropped. According to court documents filed in New York on Thursday, all claims against the “Creed III” star have been dismissed. This development marks the latest chapter in the legal saga surrounding the former Marvel actor, who was previously convicted of misdemeanor assault against Jabbari.

Majors, once a rising star within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as Kang the Conqueror, faced accusations of assault and defamation from Jabbari. The British dancer claimed Majors had physically attacked her in the back of a car, leading to his conviction in December 2023 on two counts of misdemeanor assault. He received a sentence of probation and was ordered to attend a counseling program, narrowly avoiding jail time. Majors has consistently denied any wrongdoing throughout the legal proceedings.

Following his conviction, Jabbari initiated a civil lawsuit in March, alleging malicious prosecution, assault, battery throughout their nearly two-year relationship, and defamation. The defamation claim stemmed from Majors maintaining his innocence and asserting he had never assaulted a woman, which Jabbari’s lawsuit argued portrayed her as a “crazy liar.” The lawsuit stated, “Majors has called her a liar at every turn and very specifically claimed that he has never put his hands on a woman, with the goal of convincing the world that Grace is not a victim of domestic abuse but instead a crazy liar who should be treated as such.”

However, the recent filing indicates a complete dismissal of these claims. The court document stated “all claims against Defendant … are hereby dismissed with prejudice,” and that both parties will bear their own legal expenses. Prior to the dismissal, Majors’ attorney, Priya Chaudhry, had indicated that her client was preparing counter-claims, suggesting a potentially protracted legal battle that has now been averted.

This legal turmoil has had significant repercussions for John Majors Actor career. He was poised to be a central figure in the MCU, slated to reprise his role as Kang the Conqueror in “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” in 2026. However, in the wake of his conviction, Marvel Studios severed ties with Majors, effectively removing him from the franchise. Despite these setbacks, Majors received the Perseverance Award at the Hollywood Impact Awards in June, where he acknowledged his imperfections, stating, “I’m imperfect. I have shortcomings — I acknowledge them.”

Attorneys representing both Jabbari and Majors have not yet issued public statements regarding the lawsuit dismissal. The dropping of the lawsuit concludes a contentious period for John Majors actor, leaving his future career trajectory uncertain in the aftermath of the legal battles and professional fallout.
