Wake County voters have one last opportunity to cast their ballots early at 22 convenient locations, including the John M. Brown Community Center. Early voting sites are open this Saturday, November 2nd, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. For real-time updates on wait times and an interactive map to find the closest location to you, please visit WakeVotesEarly.com.
Olivia McCall, Wake County Elections Director, stated, “We are experiencing record-breaking early voter turnout, surpassing figures from four years ago. This Saturday is the final day for early voting, and we encourage all eligible voters to take advantage of this opportunity. Before heading out, we recommend visiting our website to review a sample ballot and check the current wait times at your preferred voting location, such as the John M. Brown Community Center or any of the other sites.”
For those who have not yet registered to vote, North Carolina law allows same-day registration specifically at early voting sites. This means you can register and vote on the same day this Saturday, November 2nd. To register on the same day, please bring proof of your current Wake County residence, as outlined in this document, and complete a voter registration form at the John M. Brown Community Center or any early voting site. It is important to note that same-day registration is not available at Election Day polling places.
Voters who have completed and sealed their absentee ballots can also return them this Saturday. Wake County early voting sites, including the John M. Brown Community Center, are designated drop-off locations. According to North Carolina law, absentee ballots can be returned by the voter themselves, a near relative, a legal guardian, or someone assisting a voter with a disability. Please be aware that drop boxes are not permitted under North Carolina law, and anyone returning an absentee ballot must wait in line to officially log the ballot with an election official. For counties affected by Hurricane Helene, there is a specific exception detailed by the N.C. State Board of Elections.
Remember, if you are in line at an early voting location, including the John M. Brown Community Center, by 3 p.m. on Saturday, you will be able to cast your vote.
