Announcing John Kass News: My New Online Adventure

My farewell column for the Chicago Tribune has been published. It concluded with “-30-,” a traditional newspaper code signifying the end.

However, this isn’t the end for me. Many have reached out, curious about my next steps. Here’s what I’m doing:

JohnKassNews.com

Why this move? Simply put, I am a writer. Writing is as essential to me as breathing. And there’s no shortage of subjects to explore. As I mentioned in my final column, I’m not one to idly tend to a garden, engaging in conversations with plants. While I appreciate my garden, plants remain just plants to me.

I’m not ready to stop writing, and I still have stories to tell.

Instead of finding my work in the newspaper, you can now read me here at JohnKassNews.com. This will be my primary platform as I navigate my next chapter. Here, you’ll have access to all my content. There will also be links to the Chicago Way podcast, arguably the best podcast around, where my friend Jeff Carlin interviews me, switching things up. We’re now open to sponsors for the podcast. Links to other podcasts I enjoy, like Thom Serafin’s “Crisis Cast,” will also be available.

Contrary to the title of Thom’s podcast, I am far from being in crisis. I plan to write regularly, almost daily. Sometimes it will be a full column, other times shorter pieces. Expect commentary on topics ranging from the Chicago Bears and Mayor Lightfoot’s administration to the controversies surrounding Kim Foxx’s policies, the importance of real school choice, and the decline of legacy journalism into what often feels like propaganda for the woke agenda.

The website offers a contact form for you to reach out to me via email. I intend to read your messages and respond, continuing the dialogue we’ve maintained over the past three decades.

What can you expect on JohnKassNews.com? Links to my archived columns, and links to current stories I believe are crucial for you to read. In a world saturated with misinformation and noise, I aim to provide clarity and reasoned analysis. I have always respected your intelligence and will continue to do so.

It’s your support that has sustained me, and for that, I am deeply grateful.

This new adventure is beginning. Let’s see where it takes us.

-John Kass
