Explore the John F. Kennedy Library and Museum in Boston this winter! From January to February 2025, please note our adjusted winter hours to best plan your visit to this iconic landmark dedicated to President Kennedy’s life and legacy.

Winter Operating Hours at the JFK Library

During January and February 2025, the John F. Kennedy Library will be open six days a week, remaining closed on Wednesdays, with the exception of Wednesday, February 19th, during February Vacation Week. On all open days, the museum welcomes visitors from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

To ensure you have ample time to fully experience the exhibits and immerse yourself in the history within, regular admission ticket sales will conclude at 3:30 p.m. each day. We encourage you to arrive with plenty of time to explore all that the John F. Kennedy Library has to offer.

Tickets and Admission to the JFK Library Museum

Tickets to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum can be conveniently purchased either upon arrival at the venue or in advance online. For those who prefer to plan ahead, online ticket purchases are available here. Should your plans change, full refunds are available for cancellations processed within a few business days.

  • EBT Card to Culture Program: Up to four individuals over the age of 12 per valid card.
  • Starting January 2025: Boston K-12 students and up to two guests can enjoy free admission on the first and second Sundays of each month as part of Mayor Michelle Wu’s Boston Family Days initiative.
  • During Peace Corps Week, from February 23rd to March 1st, Returned Peace Corps Volunteers are also granted free admission.

Visitor Information and Security Guidelines

Facility Policies

Photography is welcomed throughout most of the John F. Kennedy Library Museum; however, please observe any posted signage indicating otherwise within specific exhibits. For the comfort and safety of all visitors and the preservation of exhibits, flash photography, tripods, selfie sticks, and drones are not permitted.

Security Measures at the JFK Library

The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum prioritizes the safety and security of all guests, staff, and collections. As a U.S. Federal facility managed by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), we adhere to strict security protocols outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations, 36 CFR § 1280. Please be aware of the following security procedures when planning your visit:

  • All visitors are required to undergo a security screening, including passing through a metal detector upon entry.
  • Weapons of any kind, including firearms, knives with blades exceeding 2.5 inches, multipurpose tools, and stun guns, are prohibited and will be confiscated without return.
  • To ensure efficient entry and security, large bags and backpacks are not allowed inside the museum and should be stored in your vehicle. Each visitor is permitted to bring one purse or diaper bag, not exceeding 17 x 26 inches (43 x 66 centimeters).
  • Security officers will conduct bag checks upon entry.
  • Valid photo identification may be requested from all visitors upon entry.

Additionally, please note that electronic and physical surveillance systems are in use throughout the building, and security personnel are present on-site 24 hours a day.
