Randall J. Harrison, a beloved resident of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully at his home on June 27, 2022, at the age of 66, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Plymouth on June 8, 1956, to Chester and Marvel (Klug) Harrison, Randall lived a life full of engagement and warmth, touching the hearts of everyone he met. His journey, from attending the Opportunity Center and James Madison Elementary School to working at RCS Empowers for over 40 years, was marked by his infectious enthusiasm and genuine kindness.
Randy, as he was affectionately known, embraced life with open arms. He found joy in simple pleasures and thrived in community involvement. A passionate bowler with his RCS team and an enthusiastic participant in the Special Olympics, Randy showcased his athletic spirit in bowling, soccer, and softball. He even achieved the remarkable feat of competing at the national level for track, a testament to his dedication and sportsmanship. Beyond sports, Randy was a devoted member of the Elks Lodge #299, where he cultivated lasting friendships and experienced profound generosity. His faith was also an important part of his life, as a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church.
What truly set Randy apart was his remarkable personality. He possessed a friendly demeanor and a welcoming smile that instantly put people at ease. Gentle, funny, and with a playful flirtatious side, Randy had a zest for life that was contagious. He loved to dance, immersing himself in the music of Elvis Presley and the charm of 70’s sitcoms. A devoted fan of WWE, Randy’s enthusiasm for wrestling was undeniable, with John Cena holding a special place as his favorite superstar. Cherished memories were made during family vacations to Hawaii, where Randy became a regular at the White Sands Resort, known for his winning streak in checkers and his ability to forge friendships wherever he went.
Randy’s life was a testament to the power of love and connection. He was incredibly fortunate to have parents and family who provided him with boundless opportunities and experiences. More importantly, he was deeply loved and will forever hold a special place in the hearts of all who knew him.
He is survived by his brother Steve (Joann) Harrison; his sister Roxanne (Kevin) Pauls; brother-in-law Dan Olson; nieces and nephews, Christopher (Huimin) Harrison, Timothy (Beth) Harrison, Jamie (Kyle) Gassner, Lindsay (Andrew) Eirich, Steven (Courtney) Pauls, Katie (Craig) Schauer, Krista (Brian) Herman and Thomas (Alyse) Olson; and numerous great-nieces and nephews, along with a wide circle of extended family and friends.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, and his sister, Robin Olson.
A Memorial Service celebrating Randy’s life will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, July 1, 2022, at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 2133 N 22nd St., Sheboygan. Prior to the service, family and friends are invited to greet visitors at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of mass. Randy will be laid to rest alongside his parents at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In remembrance of Randy’s vibrant spirit, the family suggests that memorial donations be made in his name to Camp Evergreen or RCS (Saturday Bowling League), organizations that were close to his heart.
