Remembering John Arnold Angel: A Life Cherished

John Arnold Angel, a resident of Maineville, Ohio, peacefully passed away at his home on Monday, January 27th, 2025, at the age of 52. His departure was unexpected, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion.

Born on August 15th, 1972, in Xenia, Ohio, John was welcomed into the world by his deeply loving parents, Mary and Gene Angel. His upbringing in Cincinnati and Xenia was filled with unwavering support and affection, nurturing his innate curiosity and scientific mind. John Arnold pursued his passion for knowledge, earning a Biology degree from Wright State University. His professional path included roles at Cardinal Health and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, showcasing his dedication to science and exploration. Later in life, John embraced the fulfilling role of a full-time father starting in 2015.

John Arnold’s personal life took a beautiful turn when he met Kristina Wolf in the summer of 2004. Their connection blossomed, leading to a memorable wedding on a snowy December 18th, 2007, at the city hall in Munich, Germany. Their relationship, marked by unique personalities that beautifully complemented each other, was built on mutual respect and a profound love. After nearly two years in Germany, John and Kristina returned to Ohio, establishing their home in Maineville. There, they built their family, welcoming their twins Oliver and Amelie in 2015, followed by their younger daughter Annika in 2017.

John Arnold Angel was the heart of his family and a beloved figure to many. His closest circle included his wife, Kristina, and his three children, Oliver, Amelie, and Annika, who were the center of his world. He is also survived by his parents, Mary and Gene Angel, and his siblings: Gene Angel, Anna Carrera, and Joseph Angel. His extended family, including numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, all felt the warmth of his presence.

As a stay-at-home dad, John Arnold dedicated himself to nurturing his children with boundless love and care. Fatherhood was not just a role for John; it was his defining adventure. He fostered a unique bond with each child, tailoring his parenting to their individual personalities. Oliver shared his father’s fascination with King’s Island, maps, computers, and board games. Amelie found a kindred spirit in John’s appreciation for food, especially spicy cuisine, and in his understanding of her thoughtful nature. Annika, his playful sidekick, enjoyed countless imaginative figurine games with her dad before bedtime. For his children, John Arnold was, without a doubt, their favorite person, illuminating their lives with joy and laughter.

Beyond his role as a father, John Arnold was known for his extensive knowledge across diverse subjects and his engaging sense of humor, making him a captivating conversationalist. He also had a soft spot for animals, especially his three cats and his dog, Piper.

The loss of John Arnold Angel is deeply felt by all who knew him. His memory will be cherished forever.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Monday, February 3, 2025, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, Beavercreek (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at St. Brigid Catholic Church (312 Fairground Road Xenia).
