Gear Up as Sergeant Gaz: A John Soap Inspired Cosplay Guide

Following our series dedicated to Modern Warfare II cosplay, we’re excited to present a guide for another iconic character. While our previous guides covered figures like John “Soap” Mactavish and Simon “Ghost” Riley, this installment focuses on the steadfast Sergeant Kyle ‘Gaz’ Garrick. Fans who appreciate the depth of character in figures like John Soap will also recognize Gaz’s crucial role and distinctive style within the Modern Warfare universe.

Gaz Garrick, a seasoned veteran in the Modern Warfare series, may not have had as much screen time in the recent game as characters like Soap and Ghost, but his presence is undeniable. His experience and leadership provide a compelling contrast to the newer generation of operators, making him a fascinating character to cosplay. While players enjoyed extensive gameplay with Soap and Ghost, Gaz represents the reliable backbone of military operations, a role equally deserving of cosplay attention.

This guide highlights three distinct kits for Sergeant Gaz Garrick. We’ve intentionally skipped his civilian attire, deemed too simple for a detailed guide, and his Marina kit (a wetsuit), which is impractical for most cosplay events. Instead, we focus on his recognizable combat and tactical gear.

We’ve also included a breakdown for Gaz’s helmet and hat, essential accessories for a complete cosplay. While the hat is relatively easy to source, replicating his specific headset setup might require more effort and resourcefulness.

Remember, some gear shown in these guides may be restricted to military or government sales, or might not be available in the exact colors or patterns depicted. Cosplayers should prioritize sourcing commercially available and safe alternatives to achieve a similar look.

If you have any questions, suggestions, or corrections regarding this guide, or if you have requests for future cosplay guides (perhaps for more characters inspired by the world of John Soap and Modern Warfare), please feel free to leave a comment or message.

Help us spread the word! Share this guide with fellow cosplay enthusiasts and Modern Warfare fans to help them bring their favorite characters to life. Our goal is to make these resources accessible to as many people as possible, fostering creativity and community within the cosplay world.
