Giving Back with the Spark of Love Toy Drive
John F. Kennedy Elementary is proud to partner with the Riverside Fire Department and ABC 7 to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Spark of Love Toy Drive. This heartwarming initiative collects new, unwrapped toys and gift cards for children in need, ages 0-18. If you’d like to contribute to this wonderful cause, please bring your donations to the school office by December 19th. Your generosity can make a significant difference in a child’s life this holiday season. Thank you for helping us spread joy and warmth in our community!

New Student Registration for 2018-2019 School Year
Exciting news for families with rising students! New student registration for the 2018-2019 academic year at John F. Kennedy Elementary will commence on Thursday, August 2nd. Our office will be open to assist you from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm, with a slight adjustment on Friday, August 10th, when we will open at 10:00 am.
To register your child as a new student, please bring the following essential documents: your child’s birth certificate or passport, two proofs of residency, a parent photo ID, and your child’s immunization records. Upon arrival, you will receive a registration packet to complete. If you have any preliminary questions or require further information, please feel free to call us at (951) 789-7570. We eagerly anticipate welcoming you and your child to the Kennedy Elementary family!
Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten Registration
Registration for both Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten programs at John F. Kennedy Elementary will begin on Tuesday, April 10th. We invite you to visit our office between 9:00 am and 2:30 pm to pick up your registration packet. We are so excited to meet our future Kennedy Knights and embark on this educational journey together!
Final Call for Jump Rope For Heart Donations
A friendly reminder that all donations for the Jump Rope For Heart initiative are due by Friday, February 23rd! Your incredible support is making a tangible impact on countless lives, promoting heart health and well-being within our community and beyond. Thank you for your generosity and commitment!

We extend our deepest gratitude for your participation in last year’s Jump Rope/Hoops For Heart program. Thanks to your outstanding fundraising efforts, John F. Kennedy Elementary was recognized as the #1 school in Riverside USD for our contributions!
This year’s Jump Rope For Heart program kicked off on Friday, January 19th! We encourage you to watch this inspiring video featuring Grace and her brother Michael: Michael and Grace Ehlers.
This year, we are challenging 100% of our students to take a heart-healthy challenge as we collaborate to raise funds for the American Heart Association.
Step 1: Take the Challenge with your student by registering at: JFK HEART HEROES. Choose one of these healthy options:
- Replace soda and sugary drinks with water.
- Engage in 60 minutes of exercise daily.
- Include a fruit or vegetable with every meal.
Step 2: Make an online donation!
Step 3: Send Emails or E-cards to friends and family, encouraging them to accept the challenge and make a life-saving donation (your student will receive credit for these efforts) to support individuals with heart conditions.

Minimum Day Reminder
Please note that Thursday, November 9th, will be a minimum day. Students will be dismissed at 11:40 am. Please plan accordingly for transportation and after-school care.
Red Ribbon Week at JFK: October 23rd – 27th
John F. Kennedy Elementary will be observing Red Ribbon Week from October 23rd to 27th, with the theme: “Your Future is Key, SO STAY DRUG FREE.” Join us in promoting a drug-free lifestyle with these spirit days:
- Monday: Wear red to pledge to be drug-free.
- Tuesday: “Hairs to a Drug-Free Life” – Crazy hair or hat day.
- Wednesday: “Friends DON’T let friends do drugs” – Twin day or dress alike with a friend.
- Thursday: “Your future is bright” – Wear neon colors and sunglasses.
- Friday: “Dress for Success” – Dress like John F. Kennedy or a community helper.
Lunch With a Loved One & Book Fair Week
This week at John F. Kennedy Elementary is packed with exciting events! We are hosting our annual “Lunch With a Loved One” week in conjunction with our Book Fair. While you are welcome to join your child for lunch any day this week, we have a schedule to help manage the flow:
- Monday: 3rd grade at 11:45 am & 6th grade at 12:30 pm
- Tuesday: 2nd grade at 11:30 am & 5th grade at 12:15 pm
- Wednesday: TK & Kindergarten at 11:00 am
- Thursday: 1st grade at 11:15 am & 4th grade at 12:00 pm
For campus security, please remember to have your photo ID ready for verification. All visitors must sign in and have their IDs checked before entering the campus. Please allow extra time for this new process.
