Supporting Our Community: Spark of Love Toy Drive at John F. Kennedy Elementary
John F. Kennedy Elementary School is proud to partner with the Riverside Fire Department and ABC 7 to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Spark of Love Toy Drive. This cherished annual event is dedicated to collecting new, unwrapped toys and gift cards for children in need, ages 0-18, in our community. Your generous donations can bring joy to children during the holiday season. If you’d like to contribute to the Spark of Love Toy Drive through John F. Kennedy Elementary School, please bring your unwrapped toy or gift card donations to the school office by December 19th. Every contribution, big or small, makes a significant difference. Exciting news for families looking to join the John F. Kennedy Elementary School community! New student registration for the 2018-2019 school year will commence on Thursday, August 2nd. Our office will be open to assist you with the registration process from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm, with a slightly later opening time of 10:00 am on Friday, August 10th. To register your child as a new student at John F. Kennedy Elementary School, please bring the following essential documents: your child’s birth certificate or passport, two proofs of residency, a parent photo ID, and your child’s immunization records. Upon arrival at the office, you will receive a comprehensive registration packet to complete. Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten Registration Now Open at John F. Kennedy Elementary
Registration for both Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten programs at John F. Kennedy Elementary School is now open, starting Tuesday, April 10th! We invite parents of upcoming kindergarten and transitional kindergarten students to visit our office to pick up a registration packet. Take the Heart Healthy Challenge with John F. Kennedy Elementary Students!
This year, John F. Kennedy Elementary School is challenging 100% of our students to take a heart-healthy challenge as we work together to raise vital funds for the American Heart Association. Join us in promoting healthy habits!
Step 1: Take the Challenge. Register with your student at: JFK HEART HEROES and choose a heart-healthy goal:
- Drink water instead of soda and sugary beverages.
- Exercise for 60 minutes a day.
- Eat a fruit or vegetable with every meal.
Step 2: Make an Online Donation. Support the American Heart Association and help us reach our fundraising goal.
Step 3: Send Emails or Ecards. Reach out to friends and family, encouraging them to take the challenge and make a life-saving donation in support of your student’s efforts. Your student will receive credit for all donations made through their personal fundraising page.

Minimum Day Reminder for John F. Kennedy Elementary School
Please be reminded that Thursday, November 9th, will be a minimum day at John F. Kennedy Elementary School. Students will be dismissed at 11:40 am. Plan accordingly for transportation and after-school arrangements.

John F. Kennedy Elementary School will be observing Red Ribbon Week from October 23rd to 27th, with the theme “Your Future is Key, SO STAY DRUG FREE.” Join us in promoting a drug-free lifestyle with these fun daily themes:
Monday: Wear red to show your pledge to be drug-free and stand for a healthy lifestyle.
Tuesday: “Hairs to a drug-free life” – Express yourself with crazy hair or a fun hat to show your commitment.
Wednesday: “Friends DON’T let friends do drugs” – Celebrate friendship by participating in twin day or dressing the same as a friend.
Thursday: “Your future is bright” – Wear neon colors and sunglasses to symbolize a bright, drug-free future.
Friday: Dress for success, inspired by John F. Kennedy himself or as a community helper, representing positive role models and aspirations.
Lunch With a Loved One & Book Fair Week at John F. Kennedy Elementary!
Get ready for an exciting week at John F. Kennedy Elementary School! We are hosting our annual “Lunch With a Loved One” event in conjunction with our Book Fair all week long! Parents, guardians, and loved ones are always welcome to join us for lunch any day, but we have a special schedule to help manage the flow and ensure everyone has a pleasant experience:
Monday: 3rd grade at 11:45 am & 6th grade at 12:30 pm
Tuesday: 2nd grade at 11:30 am & 5th grade at 12:15 pm
Wednesday: TK & Kindergarten at 11:00 am
Thursday: 1st grade at 11:15 am & 4th grade at 12:00 pm
For the safety and security of our students, please remember to have your photo ID readily available to show upon arrival. All visitors to the John F. Kennedy Elementary School campus are required to sign in and have their IDs checked before entering. Please allow extra time for this new check-in process.
