Emory Johns Creek Hospital Enhances Patient Care with Facility Expansion

Emory Johns Creek Hospital has officially announced the completion of its significant facility expansion, designed to elevate patient care and meet the growing needs of the community. The expansion project introduces two new floors to the existing hospital building, adding 40 patient beds and a state-of-the-art parking deck with 640 spaces, offering complimentary parking for patients and visitors. A ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the occasion, celebrating this milestone for healthcare in Johns Creek.

This expansion adds approximately 70,000 square feet to the hospital’s patient tower and prioritizes patient comfort and well-being. The new space is designed with large windows to maximize natural light, energy-efficient LED lighting, and low-emission interior finishes, creating a healing and modern environment. The 6th floor, scheduled to open next week, will feature 40 private rooms for medical, surgical, and oncology patients, along with three strategically located nurses’ stations to ensure attentive care. The 5th floor is planned for future development, currently designated as office and shell space, allowing for flexible growth as healthcare needs evolve.

Marilyn Margolis, CEO of Emory Johns Creek Hospital, emphasized the hospital’s dedication to the community, stating, “Our primary commitment is to deliver efficient, compassionate, world-class care right here, close to home, to support our patients’ healing journeys. This expansion of Emory Johns Creek Hospital provides us with even greater opportunities to innovate, educate, and serve as a vital cornerstone of our community.”

DPR Construction spearheaded the facility expansion project. Chris Bontrager, DPR’s Atlanta business unit leader, shared his pride in the collaboration, “At DPR, we believe in changing the world, and one impactful way we do that is by supporting our clients. Emory plays such a crucial role in the Johns Creek community, and it has been an honor for our local team to contribute to the expansion of Emory Johns Creek Hospital. This expansion will enable them to provide even more exceptional care and outstanding service to the people of Johns Creek.”

The new parking deck, a significant addition to patient convenience, was designed by Collins Cooper Carusi Architects and constructed by McCarthy Building Companies. Bobby Campbell, Atlanta business unit leader for McCarthy, commented, “McCarthy was honored to partner with Emory Healthcare and be a part of this exciting expansion of their Johns Creek campus.”
