John Lucas, age 46, of Oshkosh, WI, formerly of Amarillo, TX, passed away unexpectedly at Ascension NE Wisconsin Mercy hospital on January 29th, 2018. Born on December 29th, 1971, in Amarillo, TX, to Jeannie and the late Roger Lucas, John Lucas lived a life marked by passion, adventure, and a deep commitment to serving others.
John Lucas, a devoted veteran of the Navy and a true patriot, deeply valued his service to his country. His intelligence and wit were evident to all who knew him, and he possessed a remarkable ability to teach and guide those around him. John’s great sense of humor and natural charm made him a captivating storyteller, drawing people in with his experiences and perspectives.
An avid outdoorsman, John Lucas embraced life’s adventures to the fullest. Whether hiking scenic trails, casting a line while fishing, or traveling to explore new places, he had an insatiable thirst for learning and discovery. He believed there was always more to experience in life and pursued knowledge and adventure relentlessly. The loss of John Lucas is deeply felt by all who knew him; a truly remarkable man has left this world too soon.
John Lucas is survived by his loving wife, Billie Lucas of Oshkosh, WI; his daughters, Jenna and her husband John LaFlash of Kenosha, WI, and Rebecca Lucas of Wausau, WI; his sister, Wendy and her husband Brad Harrison of Amarillo, TX; his nephews, Todd and Tristan Bittick, and Levi Harrison, all of Amarillo, TX; his nieces, Lexi and Emily Harrison of Amarillo, TX; his stepson, Michael and daughter-in-law Krysta Vazquez of Janesville, WI; and his cherished grandchildren, Kolton and Fiona Vazquez of Janesville, WI. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Billy Mac Pittman of Amarillo, TX.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home, located at 100 Lake Pointe Drive, Oshkosh, WI 54904. Visitation will be held from 1:00pm Thursday until the memorial service at 3:00pm. For those in Texas, the service for John Lucas will be live-streamed at Oasis Southwest Baptist Church, 8201 Canyon Drive, Amarillo, TX.
